A waterfront pool remodel in Fort Lauderdale. We took an old, dated curvy pool and modernized it by squaring out the corners, adding a large sun shelf with LED bubblers and an all-tile finish on the sun shelf, and replacing the deck with marble. The work took under 90 days from start to finish.
Before
The original pool had the rounded shape and brick paver deck of its era. Nothing was wrong with it structurally, but it looked dated next to the house and the water behind it.
Changing the shape
Squaring off the corners is the change that does the most work here. It takes a curvy pool and makes it read as modern, and it lines the pool up with the lines of the house and the seawall. New steel and forms went in, then the deck.
After
The sun shelf is the centerpiece. It is finished in tile rather than plaster, with LED bubblers set into it, so it holds color in daylight and lights up at night. The marble deck ties the whole yard together.
