A complete new pool build in Davie, Florida: a rectangular pool with a raised spa and a sandblasted marble deck, built on a backyard that started as bare lawn. From the first day of digging to filling the pool with water, the project took under 90 days.
The starting point
The backyard was open grass with nothing in it. That is the easiest kind of site to plan around, because the pool can be positioned for the view rather than squeezed into what is already there.
Building it
The shell and the raised spa went in together, so the spa reads as part of the pool rather than an add-on. Plumbing, steel and shotcrete were followed by the marble decking.
The finished pool
The homeowner’s favorite detail is the sight line. The spa lines up with the view from inside the house, so it is the first thing you see through the back windows. The deck is sandblasted marble, which stays cooler underfoot than most stone and gives grip around the water.
